Eligibility rules to enter the MGAWC as a competitor:
Play in at least 3 regular season events in the same year as the WC.
Have at least 5 regular season event finishes on your profile.
For you math whizzes, yes, that means rookies will need to play in 5 events this year to be eligible.
If you don't meet these eligibility requirements, you can still come to play as a guest.
Once eligible, here's how to earn a "qualified" spot in the MGAWC:
Win a regular-season tournament in your home chapter.
Finish top 10 on a chapter money list.
Have won the MGAWC or Global Money List within the last 5 years.
If you are not "qualified", there is no guarantee you'll be playing in the World Championship in Vegas. After WC registration closes and we put all the qualified medios in the field, we fill the rest of the available spots with all the eligible players who finished 11th on their Chapter Money List, then the medios who finished 12th and so on until the WC course is full.
Anyone who doesn't make the cut (along with anyone who doesn't meet the eligibility requirements) will be playing the Born Hairy Tour Championship. This 2-round event also takes place in Vegas and mirrors the World Championship; but instead of playing for The Belt, medios will be fighting to finish in the top 16, with earns them a Qualified spot in the next year's MGAWC!!
